Kitchen Hero - Donal Skehan- link
Rating: 3.8/5
Comment: While this was very tasty, it took longer than your average stir-fry to prep and contained too many elements for a mid-week meal.
Use it again: No.

Other nice recipes from this book: Spicy white bean and chorizo soup, chicken and broccoli pie, mini caramelised and goat's cheese tarts, sticky marmalade chicken, simple roast chicken.

120. Moist maple apple tea cake (D Skehan)

Kitchen Hero: Great Food for less (Donal Skehan)
Rating: 4/5
Comment: A good rich winter tea cake. Easy to make and tasted lovely, especially warmed up.
It needed 10 minutes less than suggested at temp of 170. The book could have done with a photo as no idea of what it should look like!
Use again? Yes.

Other nice recipes from this book: Cauliflower and broccoli mac & cheese, molten chocolate puddings

119. Profiteroles (L Faulkner)

Recipes from my mother for my daughter (Lisa Faulkner)
Rating: 3.5/5
Comment: 3 of these worked (out of 12).The rest lost all volume.I think I took them out too early and made them too big. The mix should have made 20. These still tasted good anyway!
Use it again:  No, probably not.
Other nice recipes from this book: Toria's crispy marinated chicken, victoria's lasagne, scones, creme brulee, key lime pie, lamb mince curry.

118.Lamb mince curry (L Faulkner)

Recipes from my mother for my daughter (Lisa Faulkner)- link
Rating: 4.5/5
Comment: Very good. Didn't take too long to cook and tasted delicious. Added a bit more spice than suggested and it was just right. Left out the fennel and coriander seeds. Great with rice or naan bread. (photo doesn't make it look that appealing but it really was tasty).
Use it again:  Yes.
Other nice recipes from this book: Toria's crispy marinated chicken, victoria's lasagne, scones, creme brulee, key lime pie.

117.Meringues (L Pascale)

Lorraine Pascale's Fast, Fresh and Easy Food
Rating: 3.5/5
Comment: These followed a strange cooking method I think. Decided to give them a try anyway just to see. They were grand - but more like marshmallows with a thin crisp outer shell. They only went in the oven for about 45 mins at 120 fan oven - so good for a quick set of meringues. Think I'll stick to longer oven time methods.
Use this again: Probably not.
Lovely recipes from this book: Chocolate cake, lemon& lime poppy seed cake, warm bramley apple pies, spicy chicken fajitas, roasted new Potatas&chorizo Bravas, cottage pie with rosti potatoes, tandoori chicken, french onion soup, tin foil salmon
Nice enough recipes from this book: Twister Bread, chocolate mousse, salmon in filo pastry with pesto, chicken tikka misala.
Recipes to avoid: Lamb Biryani.
